Makeup and Skin Care Orders

I am now taking online and in shop orders for Derma e and MUD makeup. If you want to order online you can click the links below to save your own copy and either fill out online and email back to scotiamua@shaw.ca or print bring it into the shop( I also have copies already printed in the shop). Orders are processed within 1-2 business days and takes about a week to come in. Orders must be paid for upfront.

Questions for Scotia: Vegan Hyaluronic Acid?

I have been asked this question a few times about my new Hydrating line from DermaE that uses Hyaluronic Acid.

“How Can Hyaluronic Acid be vegan? I know it comes from rooster cones. How did this company get certified vegan?”

Hyaluronic acid is derived from 2 different sources: yes rooster cones (their little red mohawks) and from fermented grass yeast.  But why would it even bother coming from animal byproduct if you can get it from fermented grass yeast?

Product Knowledge: Hempz Cream

 

I am sure you have seen it: the big bottle of body lotion that has a giant hemp leaf on it. Even the 11 year old girl who came in with her mom for makeup noticed the “bad leaf”.

I have been using Hempz brand hand, foot and body creams for 10+ years.  I have always liked their brand, never had any problems so I decided to bring it into my shop as well for use and sale. They also have more of a body line and a hair care line called “Hempz Couture”.

Once again it does fit into my smart, safe and sweet policy… which may surprise you if you don’t know much about hemp and think it might be dangerous to have but you’d be giving into the confusion that comes between hemp and cannabis.
